Fedex Driver's Dogs Join Him On His Route After Their Doggy Daycare Closes

An adorable pair of dachshund dogs recently joined the elite rank of Fedex delivery drivers after the ongoing coronavirus outbreak closed down their doggy daycare, The Dodo reported.

Their human, Daniel Nava, actually drives for Fedex himself and admitted he had to get a little creative with his pups once he was no longer able to leave them in someone else's care for the day.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

Meet Chorizo and Cocoa, two very adorable pups who take their new job *very* seriously.

“The decision to bring them with me on deliveries was not easy but my supervisor is very understanding,” Nava told The Dodo. “Also I had brought them with me before with no safety issues — I have them on a harness that is anchored down to my seat while we drive.”

Although he was nervous, all those worries soon disappeared once he realized just how incredibly professional his new coworkers actually are.

They're so well-behaved, in fact, that Nava decided they've earned the right to represent the company, and so he made them their very own mini Fedex uniforms.

“I ended up making their outfits out of some old work shirts, and I got them some doggy sunglasses on Amazon,” he explained.

Let's now take a brief moment to appreciate the sight of two weenie dogs in Fedex uniforms because oh my gosh. Alright, now we can continue.

Understandably, people have really been enjoying seeing these two cuties peeking out of the Fedex truck as their dad delivers packages.

And in fact, the feeling is entirely mutual.

“[Chorizo and Cocoa] seem to enjoy their time on the route — sometimes we stop by at the local neighborhood parks and I let them run around for a little bit,” Nava explained. “We also deliver to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center [a local shopping center] ... and the workers there love seeing them.”

It's unclear how long Cocoa and Chorizo will continue to accompany their dad on his daily deliveries.

That all really depends on how long their doggy daycare stays closed. In the meantime, these two little pups will remain devoted to their Fedex duties and keep being the best lil' helpers they can possibly be.

And maybe getting some well-deserved treats after a hard day's work, too.
