14-Year-Old Boy Sews 1,000 Bowties So Animals Can Find Fur-Ever Homes

We all love our furry companions, but oftentimes there are more of them than we can feasibly look after. Shelters around the country do their best to keep them safe, but there's only so much you can do when the animals outnumber the adoptees.

Sir Darius Brown is trying to change that. Titled a "voice for the voiceless" by his proud older sis, Brown is a 14-year-old entrepreneur with a heart of gold.

He founded his own charity when he was only 14 years old.

Founding his own charity Beaux & Paws at only 14, Sir Darius Brown sews handmade bow ties for shelter animals to help them find adoptive parents.

Diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and fine motor skill delays when he was two years old, sewing has been a way for him to improve, learn, adapt, and grow.

His older sister was the first to introduce him to a sewing machine.

Introduced to a sewing machine by his older sister Dazhai, he began helping her with projects at the young age of eight.

Falling in love with the craft, his family all watched as his fine motor skills improved, and witnessed him throw himself into the joy of bowtie making.

Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma spurred him to make a change.

In 2017, Brown's heart was broken when he learned of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

Discovering that a number of displaced dogs were being transferred to the ASPCA in NYC, Brown lept on the chance to help out in his own unique way.

He donated 1,000 handmade bowties to the ASPCA.

Knowing that oftentimes the only thing standing between an animal and getting adopted is a photo, he jumped on the chance to give them a little bit of a leg-up.

In a great, open-hearted gesture, he began the work of sewing 1,000 unique bowties for the parentless fur friends.

His charitable donation struck the hearts of many.

Delivering each one to the ASPCA, his donation not only helped the animals find fur-ever homes, but also raised a massive amount of awareness and appreciation.

Awarded countless numbers of prestigious awards and featured on numerous talk shows, Brown has earned the respect of many. Recognized for his service, he even received a personal letter of recognition from former President Barak Obama.

His bowties can now be shipped to every state.

Continuing his charitable work to this day, his company Beaux & Paws raised enough money to achieve its goal of shipping bow-ties to all 50 states of America.

On top of that, a portion of each bowtie purchased is donated back to the ASPCA, helping to further support their rescue efforts.

Even cats can dress up.

Of course, we couldn't let the kitties feel left out (even if this one is a bit of a chunker).

Sir Darius Brown's story is nothing short of inspiring, and to know that he's accomplished it all by the age of 14 is impressive, to say the least.

What do you think of Brown's bowties? Do you have a fur baby that could use a fancy little accent? Let us know in the Facebook comments! I know hands down my cat would look positively dashing in one. (Right after meowing, complaining, and flopping around, of course.)
