Let me ask you — is your fridge always stacked? Ours is for sure. After all, we do love to cook and eat, ha, ha!

But to be honest, I never paid too much attention to where things go. I do keep veggies in the crisper drawers, but the rest is kind of free for all. As it turns out, there's a method to stocking your fridge, and chances are you've been doing it wrong.

So, where do you keep stuff in your fridge?

Do you have preferred spaces for all your stuff? To be honest, our fridge placement keeps changing thanks to my fiancé, who can't make up his mind. Ah, men! Am I right?

If it were up to me, I would keep everything in the same exact place.

And that would be a good thing, because after all, there is a proper way to organize things in your fridge. Did you know that?

Oh, yes, that's right.

I recently stumbled upon this very educating TikTok video that explains it all. So let's get to it. Shall we? Okay, first thing first, did you know that the bottom shelf is the coolest one? Oh crap!

So that's where you should keep all your raw meat.

The next shelf up is the one you should store all your dairy and dairy-like items. Then the top, which is actually the warmest, is where you can keep already cooked food.

And then there's the crisper, of course.

This is where all your veggies should go. It retains the most humidity, and that will keep your veggies lasting longer. But remember to separate the ethylene releasing ones from the ones that are ethylene sensitive. Okay?

Last but not least is your fridge door.

This area gets warmer as you open it more frequently. So the stuff you can safely store here is things like condiments, as well as coffee beans and cosmetics. Oh, at least I got that right, ha, ha!

After this video was posted it definitely went viral.

I guess many people were really curious if they got it right. And to their and my surprise most thought that the top shelf was the coolest one. I totally thought that too.

Many folks applauded this lady for keeping her fridge so well organized.

But some admitted that in their fridge, things typically start off this way, and then it all goes off the rails, hehe. I totally hear what they're saying. Best laid plans, eh?

What do you think of this fridge stocking method?

Did you know about all those different temperatures you should keep in mind? I admit I do some things right, but then again, life happens. But from now on, I vow to get better at this. I promise.
