Congratulations are in order for Aaron Carter and his fiancé Melanie Martin who welcomed their first child together, a son named Prince, as reported by TODAY. Prince was born on Monday, November 22nd after 13 hours of labour and an emergency c-section, but Aaron was quick to report that both mother and baby were doing well.
Aaron Carter Welcomes Rainbow Baby With Fiancé After Emergency C-Section
As fans may recall, Aaron and his fiancé Melanie Martin announced they were pregnant in the spring of 2020.
"She had a miscarriage,” Aaron said in an emotional Livestream in June 2020, as per People. "We got to let her heal and then we’re going to give it some time, and then we’re going to try again."
Aaron and Melanie have had an on-again, off-again relationship since early 2020.
"Were [sic] still learning so much about each other, what our boundaries are, hers and mine. Notice HER comes first always put your woman first before your own selfish needs. That’s what my daddy always taught me. Do right by your woman happy wife happy life," he wrote in February 2020.
"I’ve never met a woman more invested into me than you my darling @missmelaniemartin you’ve shown me a love that I never thought existed," he added.
"From my boundaries I have for myself that our met and knowing she actually DOES something about it. You all can talk all the [explective] you want and call me names and slander me. But we all know what it is. I just want to move forward in the best way possible."
"Melanie and I have the same goals in life," he explained.
"I’m just showing her a different side of love that I myself am not accustomed too. So that’s why I made it a point to do things differently. Obviously my sweetheart and I have different lifestyles. She moved in with me and has been communicating at least 12 hours a week to be home."
“She’s a blessing her love is worth it. And that’s what means the most to me," he added.
Two months after becoming official, Aaron debuted a face tattoo of Melanie's name over his eye.
In April of 2020, the singer spoke with "People" about his desire to become a father.
"This is what we both want," he told the publication at the time. "We both were trying for it. I'm just focused on the future and being a dad. I want to be a good dad."
He continued:
"I'm focused, my music career has been doing really well, and touring, having my clothing line out, all that stuff I have going for me that isn't necessarily just music. Family is most important to me."
In March of this year, the pair revealed they were pregnant again.
Fans eagerly awaited updates as Aaron kept fans in the loop of when his fiancé was due to give birth.
On Monday, Aaron wrote: Emergency C Section after 13 hours of labor but my fiancé is in great health thank you lord and the incredibly sweet loving staff here,” he captioned a photo of the umbilical cord.
"Prince is precious I love you son," he continued.
"Your mommy loves you as I drop tears on the phone. This is me cutting his umbilical cord my precious family #TheCarters @missmelaniemartin I’m so proud of you hunny you did it I Love you with all my heart my beautiful blessings from god."
Melanie also wrote in celebration of her new baby boy.
"I love you guys so much thank you sooo much baby for taking such great care of me during the labor,” she commented on Aaron's post.
"You made me feel so safe. So excited to start this new journey with my babies," she added.
