Jessie J Opens Up About Devastating Miscarriage She Recently Experienced

Having a miscarriage is unfortunately something that affects a lot of women, but isn't something that people talk about a lot. Sometimes it's due to shame, or sometimes just pure sadness.

But a lot of people find comfort when other people, especially celebrities talk about it.

Recently, Jessie J opened up about her heartbreaking experience.

She suffered from a miscarriage and decided to go on Instagram to share the news with her fans and followers.

Jessie was meant to perform in LA, and was planning on keeping her pregnancy a secret.

But now that she has gone for her third scan, she was told that there was no longer a heartbeat.

She released a statement on Instagram to detail her emotions and inform fans of what she was going through.

She began by explaining that she currently had no control over the emotions she was experiencing.

"What I do know is that I want to sing tonight. Not because I'm avoiding the grief or the process, but because I know singing tonight will help me." she wrote.

She also knows people will have opinions and feels as though she should cancel it.

But for her, that's not the right move.

"I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul and self love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed and I have to process this my way."

"I want to be honest and true and not hide what I’m feeling."

"I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did it’s best."

She went on to say that even though she could have addressed that in person, she felt that doing it on stage would be so much harder than doing it over Instagram.

"I decided to have a baby on my own. Because it’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short. To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again."

"I'm still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok."

"I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t."

"It’s the loneliest feeling in the world."

"So I will see you tonight LA. I may crack less jokes but my heart will be in the room."

Our thoughts are with Jessie J during these incredibly difficult times.
