John Travolta Beams With Pride In Rare Family Photo To Celebrate Son Ben's 11th Birthday

Explaining death to a child is one of the most difficult things a parent has to do — it can be hard enough to explain death to ourselves. One celebrity who has had to have these difficult conversations with his children far too often is actor John Travolta. Now, fans are happy to see he is wishing his youngest child Ben a happy 11th birthday with a rare family photo.

John Travolta has had a fair share of heartbreak over the past few years.

Fans were devastated to learn about the death of his beloved wife Kelly Preston last year after a battle with breast cancer.

Kelly was survived by her husband John, and their children Ella, 21, and Ben, 11.

Of course, this wasn't the first time the Travolta/ Preston family had experienced heartache.

Fans will recall the tragic death of the pair's first son, Jett, in 2009 when the 16-year-old suffered a fatal seizure while on Christmas vacation in the Bahamas.

This past year, John has let fans know how important his family is during these difficult times.

Taking so social media on major holidays like Thanksgiving and Mother's Day, the actor has thanked fans for their support during this incredibly difficult time. On Kelly's birthday this year, John wrote: "Happy Birthday Kelly. We miss and love you very much."

Now, he's letting fans know just how important family is as he shares a rare portrait in honor of his son Ben's 11th birthday.

Sharing the sweet photo, John wrote: "Happy birthday my beautiful boy. Your dad adores you!"

Fans were quick to leave sweet, supportive comments on the rare family photo.

"Happy birthday Ben! What a beautiful family," wrote Olivia Newton-John.

"Your love for your children shows in their eyes, John! Bravo on the best role of your life!" said one fan.

"Happy birthday, Ben! You have your beautiful momma's smile!" said another.

A discussion also sparked about John wearing his wedding band, however, it's important to note this is an older photo.

"I Absolutely Love how he's Still wearing his Ring and Honoring Kelly and their Marriage," remarked one user.

While this photo is older, and John doesn't seem to be wearing his ring these days, it sparked an important discussion about the love that still remains when someone dies.

We're so happy to see Ben is being supported and loved by his family, and John's fans, as he grows up into a wonderful young man!
